Hey Vincent - couple of nit picks - when you write 'french' or indeed english or german, it should be capitalised as French (or English or German). Also, just watch your vernacular English - so the word 'cheesy' to describe something that is 'kitsch' or 'cheap' is actually like using a slang word - it's too conversational for this mode of writing.
There's the makings of a more in-depth critique here - you don't quite make an argument here in so much as you don't relate the Kitsch>consumerism>vulgarisation element to the story of what happens to Edward's 'originality' or more 'avant-garde/Eurocentric' vibe - there's a sense of the American Dream being 'done to him' at a great cost to him, and I can't help feeling that the critique of America as 'vulgar' is carried by all those awful bored housewives and their awful homes...
